The reality, unfortunately, is that while it works beautifully on an ipad, and even on the Nexus 7, it is completely incompatible with my HTC One X, and on my Nexus 10, it looks like this:
I can just make out the text if I squint real hard... |
Magazines from the Google Play Store, on the other hand, look like this:
Brilliant. |
So...Engadget...ALL I'm asking, is that you let it use the whole screen; the rest of the app works fine, it's just the actual magazine display that uses a tiny part of the screen. I honestly searched for a zoom button for several minutes before giving up...even the two-finger zoom doesn't work. I'm rather hoping this is just an oversight, because it SEEMS like it should work fine. Looks beautiful on the Nexus 7, and the images and text are sharp on my Nexus 10...they're just oh-so-small. Heck, maybe you scrap the Distro app entirely and just create a distribution with Google Play Magazines, but that might be more work, I really don't know... In any case, do SOMETHING. I'd expect this kind of oversight from a soulless corporation, but not from a leading tech news website.
